Nationwide waiting times to see your NHS GP are currently around 2 weeks. Once with your Doctor you are likely to only receive less than 10 minutes to explain how one issue is currently bothering you.
As a medical herbalist I offer a first consultation that is approximately 90 minutes long. Taking your case history and noting down your symptoms or diagnosis. Pharmaceutical drugs will be checked for any contraindications with herbs prescribed.
Follow ups are approximately 40 minutes long. Herbal medicine is tweaked at each follow up if necessary.
Whilst a medical herbalist will cost money compared to seeing your GP, the amount of time needed to speak about your issues will be appropriate and respectful to your needs. GP's are not trained in herbal medicine and prescribing herbs is not part of their treatment guidelines. As a medical herbalist I will prescribe plants that have evidence based actions to work on chronic health problems.
